ACSA RAC UPDATE - July, 2018

posted Aug 2, 2018, 8:04 PM by ACSA Region 7

The ACSA Retirement Charter continues to provide a social and professional experience for our retired members. Retirees live an active and productive lifestyle, with many retirees traveling extensively both in the U.S and abroad. Many continue to work in interim positions in local districts. Many are involved as volunteers at the McHenry Mansion, Gallo Center for the Arts and many other organizations. Of course grandchildren and great grandchildren occupy a good deal of time for many of our members.

Despite these many demands on our time, retirees meet monthly as they are available to discuss current issues in society and education, share travel adventures and photos of grandchildren and hear a presentation from a community individual or organization. We also continue to review nominations and select the Every Student Succeeding nominee for the Stanislaus Charter.

Our social experiences have included dinners, plays, wine tasting and lunches. We continue to remain interested in educational issues as well as services to seniors.  If you are interested in joining our group or would like more information, please contact Bob Price at

May 2015 Update

posted May 17, 2015, 4:29 PM by ACSA Region 7

The first ever Retirement Conference was held in Palm Springs on May 4-6, 2015.  Although the number of attendees was small, the conference had a big feel with speakers Bob Price, Monte Selby, David Garibaldi and Alan November.  Retired attendees learned about health, travel, financial security, how to use a smartphone and other area of interest.  Those who attended were impressed and promised to recruit others to the conference next year.

The Retired Administrators Charter (RAC) has been busy selecting the winners of the Every Student Succeeding award for the region, meeting monthly on topics ranging from School Finance to travel to using DNA to enhance genealogy and everything in between.  We are excited to celebrate the end of the year at our final luncheon in June.  We will begin meeting again in September.

We would encourage anyone who is considering retirement to attend one of our meetings.  We meet the first Tuesday of each month at the Old Mill Café in Modesto from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
