Hello Team,

Thank you for a great meeting on Dec 11th. Suzan will send us the official meeting minutes. Below is a rough summary of what we discussed:

ESS on Feb 26th at 7:00 a.m. - Margaret has confirmed that Manteca Unified’s boardroom is available and she was also able to arrange breakfast. I like it. Could you please vote ‘Aye’ or ‘Ne’ and send your response to all of the cabinet members so that we can confirm this. Thank you very much Margaret!
  • Awards Readers for ESS - Margaret (Arnaudo, Dunn, Escarpita); Gina (Garabito, Garduno, Gayla); Dante (Gill, Isabel, Kim), Greg (Mack, Plymate, Spooner)(I have contacted Tracy Unified and they might give us a couple of names and applications this week). Bruce and Suzan would you like to be readers?
  • Awards Presenters - Kathe, Kim, Kristen and Suzan or Bruce whichever member is not the reader
  • Award Readers - will send a summary of their assigned students’ write ups to Kathe, Kim, Khush and Suzan by January 31st for a review.
  • Powerpoint - Suzan will make the powerpoint, Suzan will also bring her laptop and other technology to show the powerpoint during ESS
  • Program - Bruce will create the program
  • Center Pieces - Kim and Kathe will help her
  • Plaques - Suzan will order the plaques
Charter Profession Development - We decided to change the April 8, 2014, date to February 11, 2014. Gina is taking the lead of this professional development. She is going to work together with Bruce to arrange the speakers. Possible topics- Transgender Law, What is new in SBAC? No rooms are available on Feb 11th at the county office. Team, where should we conduct this professional development. Unfortunately, most of the team members who attended the last Prof Dev on Nov. 13th, are not interested in going to back to Chez Shri because the room wasn’t that good and there wasn’t enough food for the amount of money we paid. Any other ideas team? (As soon as we arrange another venue, I will cancel Chez Shri.)

Profession Development Program - Free Venue is at UOP, $30 meal from Papa Pablo’s and free vine provided by UOP. I will make the flyer as soon as I receive bio information for the flyer from our speaker Julie White. Our goal is to send the flyer by December 19th.

Did I miss anything team? Again, thank you very much for your help with all of these events! We are the best team!

Best Regards,

Khush

San Joaquin ACSA Charter

This year has been a great start for The San Joaquin ACSA Charter. The annual SJACSA kick-off event at Sorrelle Winery in Stockton was a huge success. We had 70 plus administrators at a beautiful place who were very excited get more involved in ACSA activities. This event not only had great food and company, it also helped administrators to spend quality time together with fellow administrators. It provided an opportunity for them to expand their networks and build connections with so many administrators throughout San Joaquin County! Dr. Bob Price and Scott Nanik also joined us from the Stanislaus County!

Our Charter meetings are called Professional developments because this is our main focus. In June, we conducted an online survey to ask for administrators’ interest in regards to the SJACSA Charter Professional Developments. Our first SJACSA Charter Professional Development will be on November 13, 2013, at Chez Shari in Manteca. The focus of this Professional Development will be expansion of knowledge for administrators regarding Management rights and guidelines for new and aspiring Superintendents.

This is going to be a great year and we look forward to learning a great deal!
