 Policy Topics

Topics are currently being refined and should be available to participants in about two weeks.

The endorsement of Marshall Tuck for Superintendent of Public Instruction was discussed in great detail. ACSA staff acknowledge that the decision to endorse Tuck was met with concern by some ACSA members, but also noted that 10 of 12 regions present to endorse.  ACSA believes that Tuck is better prepared and more knowledgeable on the issues than other candidates.  Staff encouraged members to read Tuck’s very thorough responses to the ACSA questionnaire.  This is available on the ACSA website.

Local Interviews/Endorsements

ACSA is focusing its campaign efforts on specific targeted races and has asked Regions to set up interviews for candidates in these races.  For Region 7, the only targeted race is Senate District 8.  District 8 has no incumbent as Republican Tom Berryhill is termed out.  So far, only one candidate (Tom Pratt) has returned a questionnaire.
