Professional Development Opportunities

1. Current Data:

Statewide enrollment for the academies is already 419 participants! Last year at this time, statewide enrollment was 334.

2. Academy Types:
We are scheduled to offer academies for ten administrative leadership specializations: Classified Educational Leaders, Curriculum & Instructional Leaders, Innovative Technology, Leadership for Local Accountability Planning, Personnel Administrators, Principals, Pupil Services, School Business, Special Education, and Superintendents.

3. Availability:
Academies are scheduled to be available statewide in a total of 35 locations in 15 ACSA regions.

4. New:
The former Categorical Programs Academy has been redesigned with WestEd into the Leadership for Local Accountability Planning. The Classified Educational Leaders Academy, last offered fifteen years ago, has been redesigned with assistance from members of the Classified Educational Leaders Council.

5. New:
During the annual Quality Control process conducted in Spring 2014, all academies were revised and refined to address the new statewide context of local control accountability planning and the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF). Each Academy syllabus reflects outcomes for the most current and essential topics and issues for new and aspiring leaders in each leadership specialization.

6. Trend Data:
Final statewide enrollment totals have continued to increase: 530 participants in 2010-11; 558 participants in 2011-12; 682 participants in 2012-113; 938 participants in 2013-14

You will begin receiving weekly enrollment updates for your Academy location beginning next week. Our office will work with region leaders statewide to promote academy registration.

Call for presenters

ACSA Region 7 Fall Mini Conference

As summer is coming to an end our ACSA Region 7 Fall Mini Conference planning committee is on full swing. Top of our priority list is finding presenters. If you or anyone you know is interested in presenting and show casing the wonderful programs currently being implemented at his or her site please complete the attached form and e-mail or fax it to me as soon as possible.

You can also submit all the information via the following link .

We realize that sometimes presenting in front of a group can be nerve racking but think of how much it could and will help your colleagues.  This year the conference will be on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, at Lathrop High School from 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

If you have any questions or need additional information please do not hesitate to contact me.
